DENMARK'S WORLD GYMNASTICS CHAMPIONSHIP FOOTAGE PROVIDED BY ENG FTP

Aarhus, Denmark 10/22/2006 -- News broadcasters in Canada were able to provide their viewers with daily footage of the Canadian Gymnastics team in competition at the World Gymnastic Championship in Aarhus Denmark thanks in part to the services provided by ENG FTP.

Bruce Wilkinson, the President and COO of ENG FTP said, " This is a classic use of our technology". "Our client was able to feed broadcast quality video from Denmark to Canada without the need of an expensive international satellite link or standards conversion."

ENG FTP provides a unique service that combines the benefits of video FTP and the reach of satellite distribution. The edited and B-roll video of the competition was sent to New York from Denmark through file transfer and was immediately made available to local and national broadcasters in Canada though the multipoint benefit of satellite distribution.

There was initial concern that bandwidth restrictions would limit the amount of footage that could be uploaded to the ENG FTP server. "We were shocked to find that using even the Hotel's wifi connection we realized at times an amazing 3 Mbs upload speed", Wilkinson proudly reported.

The client of record for this event was Toronto based The Edit Works and most likely they are the first group to ever offer international video to Canadian newsrooms using this technique. Blair LaFramboise, of The Edit Works, was delighted to be able to save money for their clients and also have the luxury of being able to both feed and edit from his hotel room.
